Kristina's mother Patty. She is the mother of Kristina Braverman, mother-in-law of Adam, and grandmother of Haddie, Max, and Nora. While never making any appearances in the series, her relationship with Kristina has been seen as quite negative.it is hinted that her ex husband used to beat her in front of the kids .she also has another daughter Tiffany and Tiffany always was not nice to Kristina and would always blame Kristina for stuff and getting her in trouble for no reason and Patty beloved her not Kristina .

While Kristina's mom is not shown, her life seems to have an impact on her decision when Haddie, who is only sixteen at this time, starts dating and falling in love with an older boy named Alex. Kristina reveals to Adam that her mother got married at sixteen, and it was the worst decision of her life, which is why she tries to prevent Haddie's relationship. This may also reveal why Kristina and her mother may not have a good relationship.She has bipolar which makes her and Kristina estranged
Season Three
In the episode Road Trip, Kristina is able to find common ground with her father-in-law, Zeek, after he has a falling out with his children over visiting his distant mother. Kristina reveals that her own relationship with her family (her father, mother, and sister) is screwed up, therefore, she feels a stronger connection to Zeek as a father.
Season Four
Kristina's relationship with her mom is heavily emphasized in this season when she comes down with cancer. In the episode "Together", after missing the birth of Nora, and Haddie's graduation, Kristina believes her busy mother will finally show up to help her during a great time of need. However, she later receives a phone call from her mom that she's once again too busy for her daughter. With Camille filling in the best she can, Kristina has a breakdown and reveals that she wish her own mother would not be too busy to be there for her. Near the end of the episode, Camille says the words that she wants to hear from her own mother, that she'd do anything for her, which causes her to accept the mother that's in her life now. At this point in the series, Kristina no longer tries to reach out to her mother in the rest of Trivia she is the best
According to an interview with Monica Potter for season 4, the writers chose not to have Kristina's mother appear to further emphasize the distance between the two. [1]
In another interview with Monica Potter for season 5, she states that it was time for her mother to finally make an appearance, however, she never does throughout the rest of the series. Kristina also makes no more attempts to connect with her after season 4.
